Maia and Branson first met in 8th grade after Maia moved to McCall. Branson says that it was love at first sight for him. They spent a lot of time together through mutual friends and school activities, but despite being known as the school flirt, Branson was too shy around Maia for her to notice how he truly felt. As time passed, they drifted apart, even though their lives often crossed through shared friends. High school came and went, and both moved away from McCall. In June of 2022, Maia returned home and was invited on a camping trip with old friends. When Branson heard she’d be there, he canceled a date to join. That evening, as they sat around the campfire, they reconnected. Their connection grew naturally and effortlessly. From that night on, they’ve been inseparable. They decided just weeks after getting engaged to get married at the Historic Roseberry, as they share a love for McCall and the beautiful landscape. They have also spent summers at the Roseberry festival, and Branson has performed there over the years with the Kids Mountain Music Camp.
