Travel & Things to Do

The Wedding Website of Lucille Mai and Richard Zhou
We’re so excited you’ll be visiting the Seattle area! Whether you’re here for a quick trip or staying a few extra days, we wanted to share some of our favorite places—both meaningful to us and just fun to explore.

------------ TRAVEL ------------

Flying In

Most guests will fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), which is about a 35–45 minute drive from the venue. If you're coming from certain cities, you can also look at Paine Field (PAE) in Everett. It’s a smaller airport with fewer flights, but often much quicker and easier to navigate—and it’s roughly the same distance to the venue as SEA. September is still considered peak travel season in Seattle, so we recommend booking flights and accommodations as early as possible for the best rates and availability.

Getting to the Venue

The easiest ways to get to the venue are: Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) – Convenient and widely available Rental Car – A great option if you plan to explore the area Woodinville and the surrounding areas are fairly spread out, so having a car can make getting around easier—especially if you’re planning to visit wineries, restaurants, or hiking spots.

Where to Stay

Seattle: Staying in Seattle is a great option if you want to explore the city and experience some of the classic tourist spots like Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and more. Just note that it’s about a 30–45 minute drive to the venue depending on traffic. Bellevue: Bellevue is a convenient option that’s closer to the venue and has fantastic Asian food spots! Woodinville: If you want to stay close to the venue, Woodinville is the best choice. It’s known for its wineries, breweries, and relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind for the weekend. You can also stay at Willows Lodge, which is where our wedding will be held! We’ve arranged a 10% discount at Willows Lodge for our guests—see the link below for more details. 👉 https://be.synxis.com/?adult=1&arrive=2026-09-05&chain=21123&child=0&currency=USD&depart=2026-09-08&hotel=27331&level=hotel&locale=en-US&productcurrency=USD&promo=50Q9HQ&rooms=1

------------ THINGS TO DO ------------

Outdoor Adventures

Snoqualmie Falls 📍 Snoqualmie, WA 98024 A classic Pacific Northwest stop—an easy and scenic way to see one of the area’s most iconic waterfalls. Franklin Falls 📍 Snoqualmie Pass, WA A great, accessible hike with an amazing waterfall at the end—another high “effort-to-view” ratio option. Rattlesnake Ledge 📍 North Bend, WA 98045 This is basically the gateway hike everyone does when they first move to the area. The views are great, but it can get very crowded—so we highly recommend going on a weekday if you can! Lake Serene & Bridal Veil Falls 📍 Index, WA 98256 For those willing to put in a bit more effort (and get a little muddy and sweaty), this is one of our favorite hikes. You’ll be rewarded with both a stunning waterfall and an alpine lake at the top.

Classic Seattle Experiences

Pike Place Market 📍 Seattle, WA You can’t visit Seattle without stopping by! Grab food, browse local vendors, and check out the famous fish market. Space Needle 📍 400 Broad St, Seattle, WA 98109 One of Seattle’s most iconic landmarks—great views of the city, Puget Sound, and (if you’re lucky) Mount Rainier. Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum 📍 305 Harrison St, Seattle, WA 98109 Right next to the Space Needle, this museum showcases breathtaking glass art—definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Bainbridge Island 📍 Bainbridge Island, WA Looking to get away from the city? Take a 30-minute scenic ferry ride across the water. It’s a relaxing day trip with great views of the Seattle skyline. Boeing Factory Tour (Everett) 📍 Everett, WA If you’re up for a bit of a drive, this is a really unique experience. Richard has always loved airplanes, and visiting this factory for the first time as a kid in 2008 made him fall in love with them even more!

Places Meaningful to Us

Bellevue Downtown Park 📍 10201 NE 4th St, Bellevue, WA 98004 We had our first date here, so it’s a special place for us. It’s a beautiful park right in the city—perfect for a relaxed stroll. Right next to Bellevue Downtown Park, you’ll find Bellevue Square if you want to do a bit of shopping or grab a quick bite. Fun fact: this is where we had boba on our first date (Happy Lemon in the mall)…although we’ll be honest—there are much better boba spots around Bellevue now 😄 Bellevue Botanical Garden 📍 12001 Main St, Bellevue, WA 98005 Another one of our favorite early date spots. If you visit, be sure to check out the mini suspension bridge—it’s where we took one of our first photos together. We’ve made it a tradition to come back and re-take photos there every now and then

Food, Coffee & Sweet Treats

Aroom Coffee (Waterfront) 📍 904 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98104 Highly recommend the salty coffee or pandan matcha! Deep Sea Sugar & Salt 📍 6235 Airport Way S, Seattle, WA 98108 One of the best cake spots in the area. (Also worth checking out: DERU in Kirkland, especially for their carrot cake.) Renton Bistro 📍 212 S 3rd St, Renton, WA 98057 Our favorite Vietnamese spot—we love everything here! Feel free to reach out if you’d like more recommendations—we’d love to help! Lucy’s been tracking every restaurant she’s visited on a personal Google Map for years, so we’re always happy to share more ideas!
