What is the dress code?

Answer

The reception is black-tie optional, but don't hesitate to spice it up with something you love! Keep 'comfortable' in mind because we want everybody on the dance floor the entire night :)

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we will be having an adults-only wedding; we want June 28th to be your night off! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to our strict space constraints, we are only able to accommodate the number of people listed on your invite to our wedding. We kindly request that only those named on the invitation attend the ceremony and reception.

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony is on June 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (22 E Chestnut Hill Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118). Our reception is at 6:00 pm at Brandywine Manor House (120 Germany Hollow Rd, West Brandywine Township, PA 19344). Additional details can be found in the Schedule section.

When should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We encourage guests to start arriving around 12:30 PM, 30 minutes before the ceremony start time. Please arrive on time as the ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.

How do I get to and from the ceremony & reception? Will transportation be provided?

Answer

To the Ceremony: We recommend renting a car or using a ride share app, like Uber or Lyft. There will be parking available. The hotels are about 30 minutes away from the ceremony location. To the Reception: Shuttle transportation will be leaving from the Desmond Hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott, and Homewood Suites at 5:00 pm. There will also be parking at the reception venue for folks who prefer to take their own transportation. To the Hotel From Reception: Shuttles to the hotels will be leaving the reception starting at 10:30 PM until 12:15 AM. Additional details can be found in the Transportation section.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors, outdoors, or both?

Answer

Our ceremony will be indoors. Our cocktail hour will be both indoors/outdoors and our reception will be outdoors in an air-conditioned tent.

Are there hotel accommodations nearby?

Answer

Yes, we have reserved blocks of rooms at the Desmond Hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott, and Homewood Suites. When booking, use our special link or mention our Yared-Johnson hotel block on the phone for a discounted rate. We recommend booking sooner rather than later, as space is limited. Details are in the Hotel Accommodations section.

Will the wedding be running on Habesha or CP Time?

Answer

No! In order to ensure events run smoothly, we will be running on time. Event start times are when the event will actually begin, so please arrive beforehand!

How early can I arrive to the reception venue?

Answer

Guests may arrive to Brandywine Manor House at 5:45 pm, 15 minutes prior to cocktail hour.

What's on the menu?

Answer

During our cocktail hour, there will be hors d'oeuvres. For dinner, we will have buffet style Ethiopian food!

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

There will be vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free options. Please reach out to us if you need any other accommodations.

Are the ceremony and reception venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes, both venues are handicap accessible. In addition, there will be golf carts at the reception venue for folks to get around with ease if needed.

What time will your wedding reception end?

Answer

Our wedding reception will end at midnight, with shuttles transporting guests to the hotels from 10:30 PM - 12:15 AM.
