Some years ago, two college kids began dating over the course of a crisp German autumn. Magdelena had just started her Master’s program, and Kyle was getting ready to wrap his up and head back to the states. At first look, many wondered how would this work? Could they keep up a relationship with 1000’s of miles of distance between them? Yes, yes they could! Magdelena spent countless nights setting alarms for 2AM so she could skype Kyle when he got off work in the states. Kyle enjoyed spending his free time planning virtual dates for Magdelena. The list went on. They have traveled the world together from weekends hanging out in Paris, to hiking trips in Denver, road trips in Spain and adventuring through Scandinavia Fjords and volcanos. They’ve studied in Germany, traveled back to Maine and eventually settled in Chicago where they can often be found eating at neighborhood joints and taking long walks through the parks with their dog, Lola. Now after many years and many miles, Magdelena & Kyle are getting hitched!
Magdelena and Kyle love to travel and be adventurous. In 2018 they planned a Scandinavian trip to Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. On the first night of their trip in Bergen, Norway, Kyle rushed Magdelena to the top of Mount Floyen to watch the sunset. Immediately upon reaching the top of the mountain, he turned around with the ring in his hand and told her that he couldn't wait another minute to ask her to marry him. They celebrated with bottles of champagne at the Floien Folkerestaurant, which is located at the top of the mountain. The restaurant stayed open late just for Magdelena and Kyle to help them celebrate their engagement.
