In spring of 2019, Lizz was caring for patients by working as a surgical intern at Upstate and Andy was tending to peoples aches another way by tending bar at Alto Cinco. Now, Lizz is known to have frequented a bar or two (ok maybe more) in her time as an intern, and you may be thinking this was the setup of the perfect "meet cute". Well, not quite. Andy and Lizz matched on Hinge, the app made to be deleted. The banter started off because Andy cunningly surmised that Lizz spoke French, which he happened to speak as well. They discussed their love of language, travel, food, drinks, and who knows what else. The conversation continued and they finally decided it was time to meet. They chose to meet at Empire Brewing Co (which sadly no long exists) and Lizz almost didn't go to the date because she was on a precious day off and was just exhausted. However, she figured she had to meet with this guy. So she schlepped a whole 4 blocks from her apartment and got a spot at the bar. Where she waited. Because Andy was late, as anyone who knows him can guess. He walked into the bar, flashed a heart stopping grin, and apologized for his lateness. The rest, as they say, was history. Andy and Lizz soon became inseparable, spending all of their free time together. They moved in together and Lizz discovered that cats are actually quite cool. Little did they know that they would soon be facing a pandemic together. But that was not going to stop them. Fast forward to December 2021, Andy and Lizz were slotted to go to NYC for new years, where Andy had some grand plans. Unfortunately, he came down with COVID and had to be quarantined. This did not stop him, though. He still pulled off a rooftop proposal! After Lizz gave a resounding "yes, of course!" the deal was sealed. We are so happy to have all of you in our lives and we cannot express how glad we are that you can join us for this very special day.
