It all started the summer of 2015. My mom told me I needed to get a summer job while on break from college. Kmart was the first place to call me back. I got hired of course because who wouldn’t love to hire me. Quan was my coworker who worked in the same department. I didn’t like him like that but he was someone that I could easily talk to make time pass at work. One day, he asked if I wanted to go to Chuckie Cheese with him for a family member’s birthday party. He asked me to save his number in my phone and let him know if I could come. I didn’t go to Chuckie Cheese with him but that was the start of our text conversations. He thought he was slick getting my number like that. One day when I was out with my best friend Bre, I butt dialed him. He called me back low-key excited about me calling him but I was confused because I didn’t realize I did anything. I said “I didn’t mean to call you but if you want I will call you back later”. Later that night when I got back to my best friend’s apartment, I called him back and literally stayed on the phone laughing and joking until the sun came up. Since that night, I haven’t been able to stay away from this guy. He asked me to be his girl before I went back to school because he knew I was a keeper he did not want to lose me to a NSU boy. Lol Five Years Later, I’m about to marry my bestie and my love who I can’t wait to share the rest of my life with as his wife. Shoutout to my mom for making me get a job.
It all started when I was working at Kmart which was my first job. I was there for at least 3 years until little old Zekeia came walking in for an interview. I noticed her from across the store because there were only a few pretty women that work there. As I saw her walk out of the building I asked my manager who that girl was. I just had to find out. Turns out she was going to be working with me. As we worked together, I easily made her laugh everyday as I do with everyone I meet. I saw her one day in the kids section looking at swimsuits. I asked her if she was buying some for her kids but she told me about her little siblings. I eventually got her number because my little brother was having a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s and I asked if she would like to bring her brother and sister. She gave me her number but sadly never showed. A week or so later, she called me but hung up. I called back to see what was up but she claimed she butt dialed me. She said she would call me back later. She called that night and we had a cool conversation that lasted all night. For a week straight we talked on the phone from sun up to sun down. She had to like what I was saying because we here now! The game never fails but it’s time to hang up the Jersey.
Friday July 19th, 2019 the happiest day of our relationship. A few days prior, Quan asked Zekeia if she wanted to go on the Spirit of Norfolk Friday when his family came into town. Zekeia accepted because it’s their favorite date spot when feeling fancy. Everyone was having a good time eating and socializing. Quan and his father stepped away from the table to visit the bar. Zekeia noticed they were gone for a while but paid it no attention (maybe they went to the bar on the second floor). Quan came back right before the DJ started playing Al Green Let’s Stay Together. The DJ asked for all the couples to meet on the dance floor. Zekeia denied Quan’s request but was nicely pulled out of her chair. As the song played, Quan and Zekeia were in their own world as if nobody else was around. The next song was Jagged Edge Let’s Get Married and Diquan Marshall was on one knee. And the rest is history...
