Natalie and Ryan met on October 7, 2022, at Fiddlesticks Pub in NYC. Ryan was on a solo holiday, and Natalie was with friends after a Kygo concert. Their conversation started when Ryan spoke with one of Natalie’s friends, and she interrupted to ask who he was. Intrigued by his British accent, she immediately apologized for the Queen’s passing, sparking an instant connection. They spent the weekend together—attending a Jets tailgate, exploring Hoboken and DUMBO, walking the Brooklyn Bridge, and dining at Grand Banks. By the end, Ryan had to return to Cyprus, where he was stationed in the British Army. They promised to keep in touch, though Natalie doubted it would last. Surprisingly, they continued texting and FaceTiming despite being 5,600 miles and two oceans apart. Two weeks later, Ryan booked a flight from Cyprus to New Jersey for December, and that’s when their story truly blossomed.
