Welcome Drinks: Cocktail attire. We encourage men to wear jackets (ties not required) with loafers, and women to wear cocktail dresses. Wedding: Black Tie. Men wear tuxedos, and women wear floor-length gowns.
Yes! All guests are required to wear business casual attire when leaving their rooms. This includes tailored pants, dresses, skirts, collared shirts, blouses, and dress shoes. Collared shirts must be tucked in. If you are wearing any of the below items, please enter and exit using the 58th St entrance: • Denim, T-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and athletic wear. • Athletic-style shoes, sneakers, flip-flops, rain/winter boots, etc.
Unfortunately, the club will not be open for wedding guests until 5:00 PM. We recommend grabbing a drink at PJ Carney’s or at the bar inside the JW Marriott Essex House New York next door until cocktail hour begins.
Transportation will not be provided to the church, or between the ceremony and reception. St. Ignatius of Loyola is approximately a 15-minute cab or uber, 20-minute subway ride, or a 35-minute walk from the New York Athletic Club. Ubers and cabs will be readily available all weekend, We kindly encourage guests to plan ahead, as Manhattan traffic can be unpredictable.
