Drive or walk along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and enjoy the ocean and cliff views! Especially great during sunset
San Diego Zoo
Enjoy San Diego’s world-renowned Zoo in Balboa park. Tickets can be pricey, but it is worth the admission. Expect a 4 to 6 hour long visit.
USS Midway Museum
Life at sea exhibits, restored planes & flight simulators aboard this legendary aircraft carrier. #1 on Trip Advisor for San Diego!
Torrey Pines Gliderport
Great place to go for lunch (only lunch, it’s closed for dinner). Here you can grab a sandwich and beer and watch paragliders take off over the cliffs of blacks beach.
La Jolla Tide Pools
Walk along the shores in La Jolla. You will definitely see some seals and other wildlife.
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
Great area to take a light hike on some oceanside trails. The views are incredible!
Del Mar
Fun beach town with lots of great shopping and restaurants. We definitely recommend Salt + Lime for lunch or dinner and a stroll down to the water to check the surf! Take the long way back to SD and drive along the coast when possible. It is a beautiful drive
Coronado Island
Great area to walk around & shop. Has beautiful beaches and an iconic Victoria hotel.
WaterBar in Pacific Beach

La Playa Taco Shop
Our favorite local taco shop! Bonus points if you order takeout and head over to the beach for a meal and a view!
Old Town San Diego
Super cool cultural area. Lots of shopping and restaurants and the whole square smells like fresh tortillas. Definitely recommend grabbing some fresh authentic Mexican food here. If you're looking for a more elevated experience (quite literally) we also love nearby El Agave for their incredible food and amazing margaritas.
Balboa Park
HUGE city park that overlooks downtown. (The zoo is actually in the park).
