Last summer, during our vacation to Maui, he planned a moment we’ll never forget. Just a short drive from his family home, at our favorite stretch of beach near mile marker 11 in Launiupoko, he led me to what looked like a simple beach stroll—but it quickly became so much more. Waiting for us was a perfectly thoughtful picnic set right on the sand: native Hawaiian flowers, a charcuterie board, and champagne chilled and ready. Behind the scenes, his brother Stuart—an incredibly talented photographer and boutique owner—had enlisted his wife Billie and their daughters to help set everything up. While we took it all in, Stuart somehow managed to hide in a tree, capturing every moment without us realizing it. As the waves rolled in, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Afterward, we took more photos along the beach, still riding the excitement and joy of the moment. Then, just the two of us, we sat quietly on the sand, sipping champagne and watching sea turtles—and even baby sea turtles—glide peacefully through the water. It was intimate, joyful, and completely us. Maui has always been special, but that beach, on that day, became part of our forever. ❤️
