Nate and Maggie met while working together at Knight Point Systems in Northern Virginia in the fall of 2016. After only a few months of Maggie working there, Nate moved to San Diego and Maggie thought she’d never see her cute co-worker again. But much to her surprise, Nate was not switching jobs and would be traveling back to VA for work regularly. They stayed in touch after his move and after a few months, they decided to give the long-distance thing a shot! In April 2019, Maggie joined Nate out in San Diego and they made the cross-country drive from Virginia (second one for Nate, lucky him!!). Since then, their time together has consisted of attending plenty of weddings, traveling to Bali and Mexico, visiting family and friends, many Mission Bay walks, a few country concerts, and adopting their 6 lb best friend/puppy, Moose.
Nate and Maggie planned a trip to Oak Island, North Carolina in October 2020 to help his parents move into their new beach house. Not letting an East Coast trip go by without seeing her family too, Maggie invited her parents to drive down from Virginia for the second half of their trip. They planned a dinner out to their favorite Italian restaurant on the island, Castucci's, but due to a "reservation mishap", dinner was moved to 4:30 pm (?!). Turns out, Nate wanted to propose before it was pitch black outside. So, an excuse was made for the girls to stop at the store on the way home and when they pulled up to the house, Nate was waiting at the end of the boat dock in the backyard, which was covered with candles, lights, and roses! Moose, of course, followed Maggie down the dock and was right next to Nate as he got down on one knee. It was a perfect night celebrating with our parents and calling family & friends to share the news. Now we can't wait to celebrate with you all, March 5th can't come soon enough!
