During my Senior year of High School I was chosen to read the announcements for one week. On Friday at the end of the announcements, I added, “Rock-out; Cox-out!” Consequently, student readings of announcements were immediately BANNED! I didn’t think it was so bad as it was my name! I’ve always embraced it, but I’m ready to “Cox-Out” and “Garv-In.”

Maggie moved up to Traverse City March of 2020 at the height of COVID lockdowns. Her mother, Holli, while working at Meijer in January 2021, got talking and joking with Patty Albarado, (Matt’s aunt) about how Holli’s daughter should meet Patty’s nephew. So, Matt came to the store to meet Maggie’s mom incognito. Maggie, not quite as covert, came to the store to meet Patty. Patty instantly gave Matt Maggie’s number. They talked on the phone twice for hours. Their first official date at West End Beach to walk and pick up Beach Glass. They have been “Smitten in the Mitten” ever since.
