The Math Adds Up

2013

Maggie needed help with math and Matt needed a ride to church. Add ten years and here we are! The math just adds up!

The First Date

A not so scary movie...

It was a night like most others. We went to our friend's house for a group movie night. Maggie pretended she was scared during the movie so Matt would hold her hand.

The Proposal

September 25, 2022

Matt covered the patio with twinkling lights. He made a charcuterie board with all of Maggie's favorite things he cooks. There was steak and cheese risotto, French onion soup, and brussels sprouts. He pulled out the ring and told Maggie how much he loves her. The ring was Maggie's grandmother's. Maggie always wanted to wear that ring because to her it represents a forever love and marrying your best friend.

Handfasting Ceremony

Maggie and Matthew have decided to perform the traditional Irish Handfasting Ceremony prior to the reception activities. It is a literal tying of the knot that comes from the Celtic tradition. It symbolizes binding together their separate lives. Maggie and Matt find honoring their family traditions and their heritage to be very important. Maggie's brother, Collin, will perform the handfasting ceremony.

Cookie Table

Influenced again by their heritage, Maggie and Matthew will also have a Cookie Table at the wedding reception. This is something that Maggie's Pittsburgh family knows very well. It is a tradition that, in addition to a wedding cake, there will be a large table with different cookies. These cookies are usually prepared by different relatives and will include Polish cookies to honor Maggie and Matt's heritage.
