Keith was a spinach farmer, and Maggie an iron-deficient school teacher at the time of their meeting. We'd like to say the laws of fate pulled them together, but it was, admittedly, something even more powerful - Tinder. On their third date, Maggie found herself invited to Keith's home -- a one room round house in the woods, with the bathroom being tastefully located elsewhere -- namely, outdoors under some pine trees and with a thoughtful tarp blockade. It only served to charm her further. Throughout the winter months of their initial courtship, they enjoyed DVDs from the library (no wi-fi at Keith's), a wood burning fire, and nights where they thought the towering pines surrounding them might finally surrender to ice and snow and crush the roundhouse to oblivion. When at Maggie's place, they reveled in the modern conveniences of indoor plumbing and access to like...society. It all strove to bring them closer together. Eventually, they moved to a home in Ashfield, together. Located on the property of the apple orchard where Keith works, they live by a river and with easy access to endless apples, blueberries, plums and pears. Cell service is still hard to come by but -- you can't have it all! (And would you even want it if you could??) Maggie works at a little school in the woods, and in the evening they join together for a few peaceful hours -- only occasionally interrupted by Maggie screeching her way through Swedish polka tunes on her violin, Keith using every pot and pan in the kitchen to make a complicated Alsatian recipe, or Bandit (their dog) experiencing gastrointestinal distress after consuming something ancient and stinky in the orchard. It's a good, simple life -- and they can't wait to keep doing more of the same but in like, a more official way! RSVP by July 15th!
