Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Maggie Shields and Justin Pennington
Since moving to New England, Waterville Valley has been one of our favorite weekend escapes from the busy city life. It offers endless outdoor activities year round, and we can’t wait to share it with you! If you are staying at the Golden Eagle or Silver Fox Inn, you will be given a “Freedom Card” with your room reservation. This gives you access to many activities (see below for some ideas!). If you are not staying at one of these lodges, you can still purchase a freedom pass for the weekend. We hope you find time this Memorial Day Weekend to explore some of our favorite Waterville Valley adventures with family and friends. Here are some suggestions we have:
Hiking

Hiking

We first discovered Waterville Valley because of its extensive trail system (>100 miles of hiking!) which is actually known as the America’s first network of trails (Started in 1850). You can find tons of recommendations online, but here are a few of our favorites: Cascade Path, Upper Snow Mountain (~1mi from Golden Eagle/Silver Fox): 3.1 miles, moderate difficulty, waterfalls! Drakes Brook Trail to Jennings Peak (~1mi from Golden Eagle/ Silver Fox): 6.1 miles, moderate difficulty, goes along river and has beautiful lookout sites to the mountains in the distance Flume Gorge Trail (~30 min drive): 2.2 miles, easy, waterfalls and covered bridges For more ideas, click the View button:

Golfing

Golfing

Waterville Valley Golf Club (Free with Freedom Pass): This historic 9-hole golf course (4 par fours, 5 par threes) is a picturesque experience through rolling hills of the valley with a beautiful mountain backdrop. This is 0.7 miles from Golden Eagle/ Silver Fox. Owl’s Nest Golf Course: This beautiful 18 hole Jack Nicklaus Design golf course is seating about 20 minutes away from Waterville Valley in the White Mountains.

Tennis

Tennis

Waterville valley is known for its world class tennis center - made up of 18 outdoor clay tennis courts and 2 indoor courts. Use of these courts is free with the Freedom Pass.

Biking

Biking

The Valley has endless amounts of picturesque road bike and dirt biking trails throughout the mountains. You can either start your ride from the village or start with a chairlift ride (with your bike) up the Snow Mountain lift and bike down. (Use Your Freedom Pass!) Click the View button for the biking trail map

Disc Golf

Disc Golf

Waterville Valley has its own disc golf course (Use Your Freedom Pass!) situated about 1 mile from the Golden Eagle/ Silver Fox that features a beautiful 18 hole course that begins with a chairlift ride to the summit of snow mountain. You’ll wind your way down the mountain with incredible views of White Mountains along the course.

Boating

Boating

Right next to town square (which is also right next to Golden Eagle/ Silver Fox) is Corcorans pond. There are plenty of kayaks, pedal boats, SUPs, and canoes that can be rented at the Town Square Dock. This is just a few steps from the hotel! (Use Your Freedom Pass!)
