Why were hats so cool in 2016?

My first happy birthday post for John, true love!

The infamous Cheektree Road Race - the impetus for JM texting me after 5+ years of not seeing each other.

Our first run together - JM likes to claim that something about the endorphins from this run really solidified our feelings for each other.

Our first truly "dating" photo - taken before Fig Fest! This was the first night I had spent extended time with JM's friends.

This was taken the night JM asked me to be his GF! I had hitched a ride to ATL with Sav, and JM and I spent the evening together while she worked.

This photo feels like such an accurate depiction of our early dating - at a wedding, getting swept off our feet!

Four months in, we took a trip to visit my sister in NYC. We told each other how much we loved each other in words we'd not said yet. It was a very special trip that we both think about fondly.

I got into Emory's PhD program on Valentine's day -- and I happened to be in Atlanta! This selfie was taken on our celebratory walk!

Sav snapped this on the day I committed to Emory! This photo represents a real milestone in our relationship - the end of some long and hard conversations about where I would live for the next 5 years

The summer I moved to Atlanta, we spent all our free and waking moments at the Piedmont Park Pool during the ~exclusive~ pool member hours. This photo was taken during a kids' swim.

BeReal of our 1 year anniversary! At this dinner, we chatted about how easy my transition to Atlanta had been - a step I wanted to see through before we made any marriage plans.

This photo is from a really special trip to Chattanooga. After this trip, we decided to get engaged in "early 2023."

"Early 2023" turned out to be the first day of 2023! Our engagement party -- we told the story so big that JM got back down on one knee.
