Considered one of the country’s top hiking destinations, Camelback Mountain attracts outdoor enthusiasts from around the world. There are two routes to the top, the Echo Canyon trail and the Cholla trail, both of which test even the most advanced hikers with rough terrain and steep elevation changes. The payoff is worth it, though — the 2,700-foot-summit offers unparalleled views of the Valley below. Suitable for advanced hikers or trail runners, and can get crowded on weekends.
Our favorite spot for margaritas and modern Mexican food. The ceviche, elote callejero, and carne asada are always fresh and delicious.
We went here on one of our first dates. Great local spot for lunch or after a hike with flavorful stir fry dishes and vegetarian options. Our go to order is the pumpkin curry, drunken noodle, and tom kha soup.
Our all time favorite Italian food restaurant. Truly authentic Italian food with everything made from scratch. We enjoy handmade pastas, stone fired pizzas, and wine of Southern Italy.
Chef Chris Bianco's artisanal wood-fired pizza joint started in the back corner of a grocery store in 1988. Fast forward to 2023—Bianco has been awarded two James Beard Awards and was recently featured on Netflix's Chef's Table: Pizza.
The Farm is one of Phoenix's hidden gems in South Phoenix. Their farm-to-table dishes use freshly harvested vegetables, edible flowers, eggs, and herbs from the on-site garden. The gorgeous South Mountain backdrop doesn't hurt either. Try an after-lunch hike at South Mountain or watch the sunset at Dobbins Lookout.
Our Saturday morning go to for fresh produce, homemade sourdough bread, local coffee roasters, and handcrafted goods. A centrally located place to enjoy some good eats and support local businesses in the community.
