To an extent. In order to keep Henry and Maggie's loved ones safe, the in-person aspect of their wedding will include Henry's parents, brother, sister-in-law, and niece. Maggie's parents, brother, and brother's significant other will also be present. All other loved ones will be able to view the wedding live as a virtual option.
Henry and Maggie hope to have a celebration within a year or so where all of their loved ones can gather in-person!
Henry and Maggie would love to receive tangible gifts that perhaps have sentimental value, but they are choosing to not ask for more traditional wedding gifts, such as kitchen items. There are a few reasons for this. Primarily, they will both be moving soon after the ceremony to Tallahassee. Cash funds will be used to purchase household items that are needed once they settle in their new home in Tallahassee and to support the start of their life together!
As committed Christians raised in the United Methodist tradition, Henry and Maggie both envision a ceremony that is held in a worshipful space. Moreover, Henry currently serves as associate pastor at Highlands, they also served as an intern during college, and they often visited Highlands while attending seminary in Boston. Maggie has moved around often during the past five years given her studies and training to become a psychologist and her church home throughout the years has also varied as a pastor's kid. Highlands is a meaningful space for Maggie given the values of the congregation and the community's importance to Henry's spiritual development and vocational fulfillment.
