It all started out in a pile of sand in southern Colorado (aka Great Sand Dunes National Park). Maggie and Garrett were just but pups in 2016 when they set out for a backpacking voyage to camp in the dunes and hike two of CO's 14ers. It was here where they first spent time together and took a fancy to each other, but alas, nothing came of it (yet). Fast forward to the summer of '69 (S/O Bryan Adams), Garrett left for six weeks of training for his missionary work with college students. It was there he found out he would be moving to the great nation of Tulsa, Oklahoma. On the plane home, Garrett was scrolling through Instagram and was reminded of the sweet, beautiful, and adventurous Ms. Margaret Sheahan. He would have been remiss if he didn't slide into her DMs before he left. Maggie was very excited to see the name Garrett Cook pop up on her phone. It began a summer of mountain climbing together, where they were grateful for the excuse to talk for hours on end. End Act 1. After Garrett moved out of state, a year of three hour phone calls and comedic text bombs followed. The day finally came when Gar moved back to the best state in the union and the two could finally be together! Their first date quickly evolved into a couple months of hiking, biking, kayaking, praying, and sharing a love of peanut butter. Their relationship in 2018 was not long for this world. But, four score and seven years later, the fire was rekindled. During their time apart, Garrett reached out multiple times because he knew he always wanted to marry this woman. End Act 2. On August 28th, 2022 (S/O Katie!), Maggie reached back out to Garrett as he was watching the new hot summer flick Top Gun 2. Two 3 hour walks, a fall hike, and a Rockies' game later, they were official yet again. Life threw many knuckleballs at them while dating, but the Lord was with them through it all. They were also blessed with some amazing travels all around CO, Northern CA, Portland, Switzerland, France, and Italy! They got engaged on May 19th on the beautiful Black Mountain in Conifer, CO, a place near and dear to Garrett; and now Maggie too. They can't wait to enter into this Sacrament and build a life together.<3 Some believe in love at first sight (aka Gar), and others believe in love at second sight (aka Mags).
