Our story.. I laugh at each time I think about it. Devon may have a different perspective though. During the Summer of 2019 my step-sister Jamie had mention I should get together with her and Brentley’s friend Devon. I told her no, I wasn't looking to be with anyone at the time (At the time I had some life changes going on). Fast forward maybe a month Devon added me on Facebook on my birthday and I texted Jamie saying "Guess who added me on Facebook", which she could not believe Devon did because he is a pretty shy guy. We talked a little on Facebook and also realized our birthdays are a day apart BUT me being 364 days older ;). We had plenty of chances to hang out as his best friend was dating my step-sister, but I always blew him off for something else. However, on September 5, 2019 Devon sent me a text message asking if I wanted to go on the *poker run Saturday with him but I had told him I would let him know because of other plans. Well I didn't let him know until the next day at seven in the morning that I would be going. I am pretty sure we were both nervous since we had never met in person and we would be spending the WHOLE day together. Side note, I made Devon late for his own poker run he was hosting because I had to get ready and then drive to Wilton and try not to talk myself out of going since I was scared it would be awkward. That Saturday turned out to be one of the best days I have ever had and the most fun till this day I have had. No joke my cheeks were sore from smiling and laughing the next day. From that day on we literally just clicked and have not stopped building our friendship and relationship. The point of our story is... always take a chance even if you are scared.. it could turn out to be one of the greatest things ever. **A poker run is an organized event in which participants, usually using motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, horses, on foot or other means of transportation, must visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run
