House Or Rental
Mi Tulum Apartments, located in downtown Tulum, is a more budget-friendly option. It can accommodate up to 8 guests and offers access to more affordable dining compared to the Hotel Zone. Keep in mind that taxi rides from downtown to the Hotel Zone typically range from 1,300–1,600 pesos (approximately $67–$83 USD).

Located in the Tulum City Center, this hotel is an affordable option that accommodates up to 4 guests. It’s within walking distance of a variety of budget-friendly restaurants. Again keep in mind taxi fairs.

This is the place Danny and I stayed during our first trip to Tulum. It’s a beautiful spot that holds special memories for us. The space accommodates up to 4 people and is just a 5-minute drive to downtown and about 20 minutes to the Hotel Zone.

This is a beautiful adults only all-inclusive hotel. The hotel is just 21 minutes from the Hotel Zone and 7 minutes from downtown Tulum.

If you're traveling with a group, consider booking through Airbnb to book a condo, villa, or full home. It’s often more cost-effective than multiple hotel rooms and gives you shared common spaces to spend time together.

The closest airport is Tulum International Airport (TQO), just about 50 minutes from Tulum’s Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera)—we highly recommend flying into TQO if possible. Another option is Cancún International Airport (CUN), which is around a 1 hour and 50 minute drive to Tulum (when no traffic). From either airport, you can reach Tulum by taxi, shuttle, or rental car. For a smooth and stress-free arrival, we recommend booking a shuttle in advance through the airport’s official website under the transportation section. It’s a more affordable option, and the shuttle will drop you off directly at your hotel. Pro tip: Talk to friends or other guests and try to book the same flights if possible—traveling together makes things easier (and way more fun)!
