"Whether you travel by land, by sea or by air, you will be on your way..." to Orcas Island! Here's some options!

Flight

KENMORE AIR

The Gateways to the San Juan Islands are either through Seattle, WA, Bellingham, WA or Vancouver, BC. Once you arrive in Seattle, Bellingham or Vancouver, there are two main ways to reach the island: by ferry and by plane/seaplane. Flights are during the day and there is limited room for baggage. The flight time is approximately fifty minutes from Seattle and 25 minutes from Bellingham. KENMORE AIR is the one stop shop with plenty of options (floatplane/airplane). If you choose to arrive via plane, you might want to rent a car on the island. Reservations are a must though, so please call the mentioned rental car stations ahead of time.

Flight

San Juan Airlines

San Juan Airlines is also an option, however, it has a more limited service to the island than Kenmore Air.

Rental Car

Orcas Island Rental Cars

The most convenient method of getting around is by car. If you are flying into Seattle, Bellingham or Vancouver, we suggest you rent one when you arrive at the airport and then drive it onto the ferry. If you know other guests coming to the wedding, it may be an option to share a car. If you are flying to the island here are the options for Orcas Island Car Rentals: Orcas Island Rental Cars: http://www.orcasislandshuttle.com/ Orcas Car Rentals: https://www.orcascars.com/ M&W Auto Sales and Rental: http://orcasmopeds.sharepoint.com/Pages/RentalCars.aspx Depending upon where you stay on the island, you may only need a car for a few key events. Biking is also an option but, be warned, Orcas is a very hilly island! There is very limited public transportation on the island. Train

Anacortes Ferry Terminal (Not a Train)

The ferry landing is in Anacortes, WA (on Fidalgo Island), 80 miles north of Seattle. YOU MUST BOOK YOUR FERRY TICKET IN ADVANCE!! Reservations can be made online (see link below) or by calling 1-888-808-7977. Call center hours: 7 a.m. until 6:45 p.m. (hours will be extended to 7:45 p.m. during the summer), 7 days a week. More information about the new reservation system: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Ferries/TakeaFerry/ The ferry is extremely busy in the summer, especially around summer holidays. Various islands are serviced and the demand is high. We don’t want you to be put off by this information - just plan accordingly and reserve your spot in time. Ensure that you’ll arrive at the landing at least an hour before your ferry’s scheduled departure.

Flight
