How we met...

University of Indianapolis

"We meet during our undergrad years. He played pool and drank beer on my floor all the time. He also hung out with my roommate all the time because they were both music majors. He was really nice and really funny and had an easy-going personality. He listened to me talk a lot." -M "She was the roommate of a friend. When I wasn't practicing music or playing video games, I was playing pool in my dorm. The pool table was on her floor and I would see her just about every time I'd be playing. Most of the time she would stop by and talk other times she would play with me. One of the first times we ever hung out was towards the end of a semester. Me and all my music friends were going to an end of the year party after we had finished a night's worth of concerts. Jacob and I stopped by Katie's room so we could walk together and Maggie was sitting there on her computer looking bored. Being the nice guy that I am... I made her come to the party. After that we hung out more as friends until we fell for each other." - C

First Date

Conflicting accounts....

"He doesn't remember our first date! It was at cheeseburger in paradise in Southport. On the way there we listened to Justin Timberlake's new 20/20 album. We sat at a booth off to the right kind of close to the front. We both ordered cheeseburgers and talked for an hour or two. It was a great first date. I can't believe he doesn't remember." -M "She thinks I don't remember our first date. Technically it was cheeseburger in paradise... but that was more of a test date in my mind - like meeting a friend for dinner. I'm counting our first date as walking downtown one night and getting TGI Fridays for dinner. She told me that she wasn't from Indy so I wanted to show her around a little bit. We went to White River Park and walked around for a bit before dinner. We really got to know each other over dinner. Definitely a 10 out of 10 date." -C

The Proposal

"He called me and asked if I wanted to go downtown with his roommate to take pictures on his new camera. We walked around a bit as Jacob took pictures of random things. When we got to the circle I could tell something was up. He wasn't doing anything weird... something was just different. I don't remember exactly what he said, but he asked me to marry him in the middle of Indianapolis and I said yes." - M "Every thing leading up to this moment was like walking on eggshells. Charlie was helping me ring shop for a while. I would send him pics and he would give me some feedback. The time came where I had to go see the ring with my own eyes before dishing out a boat load of money. Naturally... Charlie went with me. We told Maggie that we were going glue shopping so that I could fix my trombone case. We were gone for hours. Of course she suspected nothing at the time. Trying to keep everything a secret, I asked her if she wanted to go downtown with me and Jacob to take pics on his new camera - which technically wasn't a lie. I asked her if she really wanted to spend the rest of her life with me. She replied yes. Then I asked if we could start the rest of our lives together right now. I dropped to a knee and pulled out the ring. Jacob was the real MVP with all the shots he got of the engagement." - C
