Maggie and Brent first met at the University of Florida through mutual friends at a semi-formal. They became fast friends and realized how much fun they had simply being together. The very first thing Brent ever gave Maggie wasn’t flowers or chocolates… it was a case of COVID. (Don’t worry—they recovered quickly.) By the following fall they were cheering on the Gators together from the couch during away football games. Maggie didn’t know much about the sport at the time, but Brent was more than happy to explain the rules (and recruit another loyal fan). On Sundays, while Brent watched his Dallas Cowboys, Maggie tackled homework… and picked up a little more about the game along the way. As their relationship grew, so did their adventures. Maggie introduced Brent to her cat, Pippi—who made sure Brent learned that he does in fact like cats. They share a love of music and scary movies, and together they’ve made countless memories at concerts and late-night movie nights (sometimes hiding behind popcorn bowls). Even while Maggie finishes her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Florida State (yes, that FSU), they’ve kept their Gator spirit strong—and their relationship even stronger. Long distance hasn’t been easy, but it’s only made them more excited for what comes next: finally living together in Atlanta and beginning married life side by side. From football games to concerts, from Pippi’s approval to graduate school miles apart, their story has been full of laughter, love, and lessons learned. And now, they can’t wait to celebrate the start of their next chapter with you.
