Yes! We have a room block at our venue, the Hawthorne Hotel, in Salem. The website is very glitchy and shows the hotel as being 100% booked. This is likely not the case. Please call them directly if you'd like to stay and let them know that you're attending the Somerset / Hayes-Hand wedding. If the hotel does fill up, there are lots of other hotels, inns, and bed and breakfasts in Salem. Let us know if you have any trouble!
Transportation for our guests will not be provided. (The wedding party will be riding on a trolley.) Guests are welcome to drive or take Ubers, taxis, MBTA buses, blue bikes, etc. It is a 5-7 min. drive between the church and the Hawthorne hotel and there is plenty of parking at both the church and the venue!
As soon as you can or by October 1st.
Dress code for the welcome drinks on Friday night at Notch is cocktail attire. The wedding day is formal--long dresses for the ladies and suits for the guys.
We are aiming for 3:00!
We will be serving dinner as a buffet (with steak tips, seafood, and vegetables). You will be asked about any allergies and dietary restrictions when you RSVP and the Hawthorne Hotel will make sure to provide a meal that keeps you Benadryl- and Epipen-free!
We are hoping for a great November weather day, however, the ceremony and the reception will both be indoors!
Unfortunately, only the kids in the wedding are invited to the ceremony and reception. However, you are more than welcome to bring your kids and arrange for childcare in your hotel room / Airbnb. We would love to hang outside of the ceremony and reception.
Yes! We are planning to continue celebrating at the Tavern (the bar inside the Hawthorne Hotel) or somewhere nearby in Salem!
There will not be a formal event, but Nathaniel's, the restaurant inside the Hawthorne, serves great breakfast. Maggie and Brent plan to eat there on Sunday and would love to see anyone else who is interested!
