Ron and Maggie met online when they were both living in Chicago. Their first date was a long walk that took them all around Maggie’s neighborhood, followed by lunch. Maggie’s first impression of Ron was that he was persistent and well dressed. Ron’s first impression of Maggie was that she was skeptical, extremely beautiful, and easy to talk to. After their first date, Ron told a friend that he had just met the girl he was going to marry.
A few months into their relationship, Ron moved for work and they became long distance. After a couple years of monthly train, plane, and/or bus rides (mostly endured by Ron), Maggie quit her job and moved to Columbus, Ohio so they could live together. While in Ohio, Maggie started her own business, they adopted a dog (Lucie), and ate a lot of Jeni’s ice cream. When a new opportunity for Ron popped up in LA, they put everything in storage and headed West. California brought all day walks on the beach, hikes in the mountains, an incredible amount of sushi, and a new favorite ice cream shoppe. While LA had its perks, visiting family was difficult and Maggie had a feeling they should be closer to home. So, once again, they packed everything up and headed East, but this time to Tennessee. Nashville seemed like an obvious choice — a cool, growing city, and much closer to family. Here, Ron discovered a great new career in tech, Maggie’s design business grew like crazy, they adopted a second dog (Winnie), and learned all about the hype that is Nashville Hot Chicken.
Ron planned a weekend trip in the Smoky Mountains so they could explore Eastern Tennessee and see all the fall colors. He proposed with a family ring, that belonged to Maggie’s grandma, in the middle of the park, while out on a walk, surrounded by golden trees.
Maggie and Ron are planing a short ceremony at a local park, followed by a small and intimate dinner at their favorite restaurant. Dinner, drinks, and of course ice cream, will be served.
