When Maggie Met Quinn

Maggie and Quinn both started at NC State in the fall of 2015. Their freshman year dorms were only 5 minutes away from each other, but somehow, they didn’t cross paths while at school. Maggie spent more time on centennial campus, while Quinn stuck to main campus. Maggie moved to Greek Village; Quinn moved to Wolf Village. Maggie got her ACP at Coco Bongo; Quinn got his burritos at El Cerro. It wasn’t for another five years that they would finally find each other on their phone screens. For their first date they went to Maggie’s favorite park, Dorthea Dix, and had Quinn’s favorite Chinese takeout, Beansprout. They talked until it got dark. If you ask Maggie, she’ll say she knew as soon as she got home that it would be her last first date. Luckily Quinn was on the same page and asked Maggie out again the very next day. They quickly became excellent trivia partners, avid Hurricanes fans, and frequent movie goers. Maggie learned to enjoy Bob’s Burgers, while Quinn embraced the Carolina Panthers each Fall. Together they’ve grown as a couple. They adopted their adorable beagle Phoebe and left their beloved Raleigh for Blacksburg, Virgina for Quinn to pursue a veterinary degree. Maggie took a trip to Raleigh for work in August of 2024. As she left the office Friday, prepared to make the drive back to Virginia, Quinn surprised her in the office parking lot with a full itinerary. He had planned lunch in Lafayette Village, manicures in the Village District, and a night at the Umstead Hotel. On the way to dinner Quinn took a detour back to where it all began at Dorthea Dix park. A short walk led them in front of a field of flowers where Quinn got on one knee and asked Maggie to be his wife.
