Beau and Maggie were both very involved in the art program at East Knox. Beau graduated and went on to attend Columbus College of Art and Design. When Maggie was a junior/senior at EK he would come back to Ms art class for teaching hours. During that time Maggie developed a giant crush on him that she never told him about (he was a COLLEGE GUY), and he always silently thought she was quirky with a beautiful smile (but she was a HIGHSCHOOLER)... years later they had stayed in casual contact through Facebook. They both had failed relationships with others, amazing children, and some of lifes messy hiccups. And one day after a random "How are you doing?" Facebook chat, they met up for a date and haven't looked back since.
After buying the perfect ring for Maggie, Beau stressed and stressed about how to ask. When she asked what his thoughts were on getting engaged, he stated that he wanted to do something big, "because girls want a big thing for their proposal". Which is typically true, but she laughed and said, "I don't need that. At all."... after reassuring him it didn't need to be a big thing, he surprised her after dinner one night. He got down on one knee and asked for her hand in front of their kids, her dad, and a table full of Mexican leftovers. It was perfect.
The venue is booked, the photographer is picked, and we're deciding on the other vendors! We will update the site as things fall into place.
