We met on the leading breakfast-food themed dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. And, yes, our initial conversation was about the importance of bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches. After a few messages, we knew the conversation needed to continue in-person. We decided to meet in a traditional Belgian beer bar where they had a no-loud voices policy. They really wanted you to focus on the beer. But, we focused on each other, so we were kicked out after a few hours. And, we’ve been focused on each other ever since then.

It only takes two people to get engaged. But, it takes an army of co-conspirators to surprise one Maggee Dorsey. Our army was broken up into two groups: Team Distract Maggee and Team Twinkle Lights. While Team Distract Maggee was out having fun, Team Twinkle Lights took over our backyard and turned hundreds of patio lights into a sparkling canopy. Maggee returned to a completely transformed apartment and one pressing question. (Spoiler Alert: she said yes.)
