We're Getting Married!

John and I met at the Ashland Town Center mall for our first date on the 21st of September 2018. My first date ever! "Be calm" I told myself, "and don't be weird"! Ok, now where was he? Black, jacked up Jeep Cherokee. I spotted a Chris Stapleton sticker on the back glass. This was getting off to a good start. Then he walked around the side wearing a buffalo plaid shirt with a head full of GORGEOUS strawberry blond curls. A very good start indeed. We walked around the mall and Pogue landing days, grabbed some Starbucks and made our way to the park talking about anything and everything. We sat on the swings and the conversation moved from music to mamaws and never lulled. When each of us made it home we made a bet on who would say "I love you" first. A little over a week later he lost that bet! But we both knew where things were going after our first date. We had dates almost every weekend following. I stayed with him in Paintsville through semester breaks. On the one year anniversary of our first date John took me back to the park to sit on the swings and we talked about how we had come so far and learned so much about ourselves and each other. Then he pulled something shiny out of his pocket and got down on one knee. I said yes just a little too loudly for a public park and he giggled as he wrapped me in a hug. We then went to get Chinese and I think it's safe to say that the day rounded out to be the best day of my life so far. John and I now live in a house in Greenup county that we are renovating and repairing. We can't wait to finally seal the deal and celebrate with all our family and friends the joys that have yet to come...
