Chance was born in the dead of night on December 5th, 1998, at 10:56PM (not really dead of night but you get the idea he was going for). He was born on the Army base called Fort Bragg, formerly known as Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg. He was a whopping 9lbs 10oz. Both of Chance’s parents served as officers in the United States Military, his mother, Shannon, in the Army and his father, Joe, a United States Marine Corps Officer (RAH). In 2000, his parents moved back to Michigan where Chance would grow up. As a kid Chance was very involved in martial arts, starting Karate at the age of 4 and reaching his brown belt by the age of 8 before transitioning to Muay Thai where he would become a two-time national champion by the time he turned 18. As a teenager and young adult, Chance played football as well as running track and field where he would specialize in the 400m & 800m races. He also greatly enjoyed hanging out with his friends after sporting events at CK Diggs or Ram’s Horn. After his senior year of high school Chance would run for Davenport University before transferring and graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising Management. Shortly after graduation Chance moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he was an up-and-coming Enterprise Manager. After being involved in a car accident in 2021, Chance decided he wanted to do more with his life and decided he would follow his father’s footsteps and commission as a United States Marine Corps Officer. After long and intensive training from the fall of 2022 until summer of 2023, Chance would be a fresh second lieutenant on his way to Camp Pendleton, California serving in the First Marine Division.
Magen was born on June 27, 2003, at approximately 2:00 p.m. in Encinitas, California, weighing a chunky 9 lbs., 2 oz. She was welcomed into a loving family by her parents, Fernando and Louann, and her built-in best friend her seven-year-old sister, Julia. Magen and her family are deeply involved in their faith, having built a strong community and lasting friendships within the Catholic Church in Southern California. At the age of three, Magen began taking dance classes and was obsessed from the very start. She spent the majority of her life in the studio, primarily focused on ballet. Around age nine, she discovered a love for other styles such as jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop, eventually competing and winning national titles. Magen met most of her closest friends through dance, spending late nights and long weekends building bonds with both her peers and their families. Her dedication to the craft led her to spend summers training with professional ballet companies; however, it was her experience navigating the challenges of being an injured athlete that shaped her future. This journey inspired Magen to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!). Today, she shares her passion into teaching and choreography. When she isn’t in the studio, Magen is likely spending time with her family, spoiling her nieces and nephew, or playing with her mini long-haired dachshund, Lacy (who, it should be noted, has quite the crush on Chance).
It was a warm summer night, Chance and his roommate Anthony decided to go out on the town and have a good night out. Their destination was the classic Encinitas that involved good music, cheap drinks, and tons of dancing. As Chance and Anthony were getting into their groovy-ness, out of the corner of his eye, Chance noticed a STUNNING, young woman walking towards the door. They locked eyes for just a second and Chance just knew he had to quote unquote lock-in. Weaving his way in and out of all the drunkards, he was able to catch up with this mystery woman. After quick exchanging of names and immaculate word play, Chance and Magen (ice cream cone) begin to dance, lighting up the floor with their instant chemistry. It was as if they had been each other’s dance partner’s their whole lives. Dancing until they were drenched in sweat, they decided to go and get some burritos from the corner spot (IYKYK). While enjoying their food they began to learn more about each other and before they realized it, it was well into the night and time to go home. After a week of Magen ignoring Chance, she texts on a Tuesday afternoon letting Chance know that she was free that evening after work. Working quickly with his boys while on the range, he set up a date to get sushi & ice cream (Magen’s fav). They were attached at the hip from that point on and spent any free time they had together. They started officially dating on August 15, 2024. While the first few months of their relationship consisted of Chance healing from his ACL & Meniscus surgery and Magen running around and driving him to doctors appointments, it gave them much time to just sit and talk about anything and everything. After Chance’s speedy recovery they then spent time, going to the beach, getting back to dancing, trying local restaurants, going to Mass, hanging out with family, and pretending to be wine connoisseurs.
