Cute town just up the river from Garrison. Check out Cold Spring Coffeehouse for our favorite croissant, DamnAged Vintage for a last minute dress for the wedding, Marbled Meat for a sandwich, or Cold Spring Cheese for a snack. Head down Main Street to the river front for a great view.
Google: Arden Point, Anthony's Nose, Breakneck, Sugar Loaf, or Chimney Top for some good local hiking routes. It may be crowded on the weekend! Check out Hudson River Expeditions for a great river kayak tour that leaves out of Cold Spring and Beacon Friday-Monday
A federalist style house built in 1804 surrounded by beautiful gardens and boasting what may be the best view of the Hudson River in the whole valley. On Saturday mornings there's also a wonderful farmers market held in the parking lot!
Good shopping, galleries galore! Check out Main Street (yes, same as Cold Spring). Big Mouth Coffee; Dia Beacon (Great art museum), a list with other recommendations is linked below!
Around for longer than just Saturday night? Matt's mom owns a restaurant called Dolly's right on the river in Garrison. We're not just biased, it really is the best dinner around!
Maggie's favorite donuts (outside of the Apple Hut in Wisconsin, duh). FYI, if you go you are legally required to bring her and Pete cinnamon sugar donuts to the ceremony. Also a decent place for simple provisions.
Located in Cold Spring. Stellar contemporary Italian art museum. Worth a visit.
