In addition to the below, some of our favorite areas in Detroit are: 1) Downtown Detroit - Woodward Ave. contains many opportunities for shopping and food. Enjoy the old art deco buildings and theaters. 2) Midtown Detroit - Farther down Woodward Ave. you'll find additional options for bars and restaurants. This is home to the Detroit Institute of Art listed below. There is a free tram called the Q-line that follows Woodward Ave from Downtown to the Hotel St. Regis Detroit n Midtown. 3) CorkTown - The old Irish area of Detroit has old bars and houses.

The oldest aquarium in the United States. Open 10am-4pm Friday through Sunday. Visiting is free with a suggested donation.

Detroit Institute of Arts

Open (am-9pm on Friday and 10am-5pm Saturday & Sunday. World class art museum with famous pieces like Diego Rivera's Detroit Murals. Don't be shocked if Will and Maeve take the group here Sunday as well.
