Guide to Events

Our wedding blends traditions that are meaningful to both of our families, and we’re so excited to share them with you!

Mehndi and Welcome Party

The Mehndi is a traditional Indian celebration held before the wedding. During this event, intricate henna designs are applied to the hands, symbolizing joy, beauty, and the love shared between families.

Hindu Ceremony

The Hindu ceremony is rich with symbolism and tradition, celebrating not only the union of two people, but also the joining of families and communities. Some moments you may notice include: The sacred fire, which serves as a witness to the marriage The seven steps (Saptapadi), representing shared promises and partnership The exchange of garlands, symbolizing mutual acceptance and respect The four rounds of the sacred fire (Mangalpheras), signifying the 4 basic goals of life Family participation, symbolizing the joining of not just two individuals, but two families

Western Ceremony

Our Western ceremony reflects another important part of who we are. It centers on spoken vows, partnership, and the commitment we are making to one another as we begin married life, along with a blessing from our family and friends.

Cocktail Hour, Dinner, and Dancing

Cocktail hour will take place in between the two ceremonies. Following the western ceremony, we invite you to relax, enjoy food and drinks, and celebrate with us through the evening!
