Question

What should I expect from a wedding on a yacht?

Answer

The reception will take place on the Ovation Yacht, consisting of 3 levels, with both indoor and outdoor areas. Please note that once the yacht sails at 7:00 p.m., guests will be unable to leave the reception until docking at 11:00 p.m. At this time, guests may leave or continue to celebrate with us until 12:00 a.m. Guests must vacate the marina by 12:15 a.m. Valet is available free of charge for all guests, as is a shuttle service to return guests to the Hyatt Royal Oak. If you are taking a taxi, please note that you will have to wait for them outside the marina gate.

Do you have a hotel room block?

Answer

Yes. A limited block of discounted rooms is available at the Hyatt Royal Oak. Please see our travel page for instructions on how to book. Additional hotel recommendations can also be found on the travel page.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes. Valet service will be available free of charge to all guests at the marina.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes. A shuttle will be available to take guests from the Hyatt Royal Oak to the ceremony / reception. The shuttle will also be available to return guests to the hotel following the end of the reception at 12:00 a.m.

How often will the shuttle run from the hotel and wedding venue?

Answer

The shuttle will only run once each way, and will be unable to accommodate additional trips: Hotel -> Wedding: 5:00 p.m. Wedding -> Hotel: 12:00 a.m. Please note that the shuttle holds ~48 people, and seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Uber and Lyft is available if you choose not to take the shuttle.

Can I take the shuttle if I am not staying at the Hyatt?

Answer

Yes! All guests are welcome to use the shuttle service in either direction even if not staying at the Hyatt. The shuttle will only run once each way, and will be unable to accommodate additional trips: Hotel -> Wedding: 5:00 p.m. Wedding -> Hotel: 12:00 a.m. Please note that the shuttle holds ~48 people, and seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Uber and Lyft is available if you choose not to take the shuttle.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. Formal attire is required. Please note that the wedding site will be both indoors / outdoors, so plan to dress appropriately depending on the weather forecast. The reception site also has 3 separate levels that are accessible by staircase only. Plan your footwear accordingly, and feel free to bring / wear comfortable shoes!

Can I leave the reception early?

Answer

No. Once the yacht sails at 7:00 p.m., no guests will be able to exit until it returns to the dock at approximately 11:00 p.m.

Will I be assigned a table for dinner?

Answer

No. Dinner service will be strolling/ buffet style. Seating and tables will be unassigned. Guests may use tables on any 3 levels during dinner service.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the ceremony no later than 5:45 p.m.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

No. This will be an adults-only event. Please plan child-care accordingly.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes. Please note in your RSVP any dietary restrictions. Vegetarian , vegan, and gluten-free options are available.

Where is the ceremony and reception site?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at Jefferson Beach Marina.....when arriving, please look for....drive all the way down the road, past the [] restaurant. When you reach the security gate, tell the guard you are here for the Nichols-Stange wedding. They will direct you to the valet. The reception will take place on the Ovation Yacht.
