Downtown Denver holds a special place in our hearts and where we lived when we first started dating! Some of our favorite areas are: River North (RiNo): Just north of downtown, RiNo is known for cocktail lounges, brewpubs with patios and late-night food trucks. The Highlands: Just across I-25, this is a residential neighborhood featuring avenues lined with elegant old homes, chic cocktail bars and trendsetting restaurants. City Park: Not only a great place to take a walk or bike ride, it is also home to the Denver Nature and Science Museum, as well as the Denver Zoo. This, along with Washington Park, are great areas for families.
Olde Town Arvada: Some of our favorite places include Flights Wine Cafe, a lovely outdoor wine bar with small bites. School House Kitchen is our go-to CU Buffalos watch spot and whiskey bar. Lady Nomada is one of our favorite close Mexican restaurants. Golden, Colorado: Just on the foothills, downtown Golden is a great place to walk around and check out fun boutique stores. The Buffalo Rose Bar & Grill is also one of our favorite places to grab a bite. It dates back to 1858 and has great live music!
Estes Park: One of our favorite places to visit from spring to fall! About an hour and a half drive from the hotel. Main Street in Estes is a great place to explore small boutique shops, grab a craft beer or cocktail, while enjoying small mountain town Colorado. Rocky Mountain National Park: To enter the park, you will be required to make a reservation through the National Park website. We highly recommend taking a leisurely drive or hike in the park to take in some of Colorado's best views and wildlife.
Roughly a two to three hour drive from the hotel. Summit County is home to multiple ski towns such as Vail, Keystone, and Breckenridge (where we got engaged!). Each has its unique villages, personality, and charm. Activities include biking, hiking, and rafting (might be too cold for that last one!).
Feel free to reach out to either Maeve or Alex! We're happy to help!
