After both Ty & Mae were on and off dating apps for three years after moving to the city of Pensacola, they happened upon each others profile. Ty had a caption stating "dating apps do not work, and will not help you find a relationship" and after many failed attempts herself, Mae swiped right agreeing to the statement. After a week of no response, he messaged back and the conversation began. Though there is still debate on the official first date, Mae was having a drink at her old place of work after her last shift before a job change, and Ty happened to be out and about at the same time. When they met, they talked like they were not strangers, but known each other for years. After a few successful dates (and Ty convincing strangers they were already married on the second date) Ty asked Mae if "We should just do it" and be his girl friend on September 18th, 2024.
