Like all great modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. In 2019, we matched on Hinge and quickly realized there was something special between us. We went on four dates (Austin insists it was three—jury’s still out on that one), and they were full of laughs, good conversation, and an undeniable connection. But as great as things were, the timing just wasn’t right. In what Austin will forever refer to as “The Thanksgiving Breakup of 2019,” Maeghan broke things off. For the record—it was technically Black Friday (She has the receipts haha). Even in that moment, though, there was a quiet sense that this wasn’t the end of our story. Over the next few years, we remained social media “friends,” occasionally seeing each other’s posts but not really talking. Still, Austin was always on her mind. Something in her heart kept telling her that their story wasn’t finished. After months of feeling God gently nudging her, Maeghan found the courage to reach out on June 3rd, 2023. Austin replied almost immediately, surprised but happy to hear from her. Plans were made quickly to meet for drinks the following week at 3 Monkeys…and the rest is history. That night, it felt like no time had passed. We picked up right where we had left off—only this time, the timing was perfect. Since then, our lives have been filled with laughter, adventure, love, some tears, a constant urge to learn and grow from one another and the sweet sense of knowing that we were always meant to find our way back to each other. Now, we can’t wait to say "I do" in front of the people who have cheered us on, prayed for us, and supported us along the way. Thank you for being part of our love story.
