They met on Bumble, and Sterling cut right to the chase, asking Maegan out to dinner. She excitedly accepted, but as the time came she was hesitant to go. She didn’t want to waste more time and energy to learn Sterling was “just like the rest of them”. After talking it over with her mom, brother, and best friend, they all agreed that she would go and at the very least “get a free dinner out of it.” They met at Trackside, and even though they practically had to shout because it was so loud due to the live music, they both knew this was something special. Maegan excused herself to the bathroom, texting the troops to let them know it was going well, and this was much more than “just a free dinner.”

What started as a walk on the beach turned into an unforgettable proposal! Sterling, Maegan, and her parents went for a walk on the beach in Chincoteague, VA. One minute, they’re walking and taking in the beauty of it all. The next, Sterling is on one knee, Bob and Darleen are pulling off to the side, and there written in the sand is, “Marry Me?” All Maegan can say is, “oh my God, is it actually happening?” It was, in fact, happening. But, that wasn’t all! After Maegan said yes, she turns to her parents to celebrate when behind the sand dune pops her best friend Katie and her mom, her brother Teddy, and his girlfriend. This is when Maegan also realized that the “stranger” who looked like they were taking pictures of them, turned out to be one of Teddy’s best friends, there to capture the best day! Maegan and Sterling were overjoyed to celebrate their engagement in one of their favorite places, with some of their favorite people.
