Our Journey

From friends, to strangers, to lovers

Growing up, we spent a good portion of our childhood together. Our parents were great friends as they grew up, giving us the opportunity to become friends as they hung out. Only problem was, Cheyanna acted like she didn't like me when we were young (we all know she kind of did though). She liked to hang out with the adults and claimed I was "loud" and "hyper" (which is probably true). Once everyone had a bit of a falling off, Cheyanna and I of course didn't see each other for a long time. One day, though, I join a new softball team (ironically enough) just to find out Cheyanna is on the same one. At first I was nervous, because it had been so long since we'd seen each other, but she immediately replaced those nerves with butterflies using her charming, yet hilarious personality. Now throughout our few seasons playing together, it was obvious we had feelings for one another. There would always be that one moment where one of us would finally speak up, but the timing was never actually right. It simply continued as a little flirty friendship and all- night facetime calls. Cheyanna loved to bully me and physically tackle me on the softball field, but always made sure to leave a subtle "only because I like you" right afterwards. The on and off cycle we had went on for quite some time; we always seemed to hit road blocks that prevented us from realizing sooner how deep the connection was between us. No matter where we were at in life, talking every day or not, we realized that missing piece we've been searching for in our hearts was simply each other. It wasn't until recently that we managed to find our way back to one another; this time being the last. I never believed in soulmates or "maybe later on in life" kinds of things, but when we finally sparked the connection we'd been longing for, it made me realize that those things are real. I know that in this life and any other life I live after, Cheyanna Pirt is my soulmate. I wish I could put in to words how much love and admiration I have for Cheyanna, but it would end up being an entire novel. We've brought out the best qualities of ourselves that we forgot we had, and will do so forever. Some have said we're "moving too fast", we're "too young and will regret it", etc... but at the end of the day, love doesn't run on a time limit. I never knew what love felt like until the day the feeling completely overwhelmed me. It's a feeling you can't even put into words, but will always linger between you and your person. All of our years of back and forth have led to become the most deep, genuine, true love both of us didn't know we needed. Our passion and connection will only grow as time goes on, and our love will last always and forever.
