Lucas and Mady both moved to Los Angeles in June of 2017 and met each other that July. Lucas's roommate was dating a girl Mady was friends with and they knew they had to set the two of them up. However, Lucas and Mady did not want to meet. When Navid (one of Lucas's groomsmen) and his girlfriend finally got Lucas and Mady together, they were inseparable. They became close friends, and for a long time they remained just friends. Mady finally got impatient with this because it was pretty obvious that they both liked each other. She finally told him he needed to make the first move and the rest is history.
