Our journey began long before we realized it. Both of our moms worked together at the hospital and, being moms of redheads, often joked about how Mady and Garrison should end up together. Despite their hopes, we didn’t notice each other at first. It wasn’t until high school that we began to take notice, although neither of us made the first move. So, like the mature teens we were, we became professional stalkers—sneaking glances, overanalyzing hallway encounters, and becoming regulars in each other’s Instagram story views. Eventually, Mady worked up the courage to send the first message on Instagram, but Garrison’s casual response led her to believe he wasn’t interested. Little did she know, he was simply waiting for the right moment to take the next step. Not long after, Garrison asked for Mady’s number, and from that point on, everything fell into place. Our first date on November 9, 2019, at As You Wish was filled with laughter and marked the beginning of something truly special. The Proposal: On August 29, 2024, Garrison surprised Mady with a trip to Disneyland, arranging for us to arrive a day early for what seemed like a simple romantic dinner and a walk on the beach. When we arrived, the beach was beautifully decorated with blankets, pillows, roses, and champagne—an arrangement set up by Garrison's cousins to make the moment unforgettable. In that quiet, serene setting with the ocean in the background, Garrison proposed. We celebrated on the beach and continued our joy at Disneyland the next day, embracing the start of our new journey together.
