After chatting for a week or so, we went out and had way more fun than either expected: BBQ & arcade games... Nick won at the dancing game, and Madeline won at the Ninja Turtles game. It made it easy for us to decide a second date was in order.
Nick came over after work and Madeline said she had a few chores to do, not knowing that he had the ring in his pocket. When she stepped out of the room for a second, Nick set up a candle, put out the champagne and flowers, and took out his guitar. When Mads came back into the room, Nick played the song he wrote for her and got down on one knee... Mads said yes, even though she doesn't remember anything after seeing the ring.
We wanted our wedding to capture the story of our relationship so far, centered on Christ, joy, and friendship. After looking at a few venues, we visited Rancho San Antonio, read each others' minds, and knew we found our spot. We're so excited to celebrate with you all, and we can't wait to see you on March 29th!
