FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For our welcome party, we encourage you to wear coastal cocktail - for women, this includes a knee-length or midi dress; for men, this includes dress shirt and dress pants (optional jacket). For our wedding, we encourage you to wear coastal formal attire - for women, this includes midi or maxi dress; for men, this includes a jacket and dress pants (optional tie). For both events, please dress as colorfully as you'd like :)

Question

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

In August, Maine has mild to warm weather with average high temperatures in the mid-70s to low-80s and lows in the high-50s to low-60s.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We would love to celebrate with everyone, but our guest list is limited. Your invitation will list exactly who is invited - thank you for understanding!

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors (weather permitting), and the reception will take place under a tent. The welcome party and after party will be indoors.

Question

Have you reserved blocks at hotels in the area?

Answer

Due to everyone's varied preferences, we have not booked hotel blocks for the wedding weekend. We suggest staying at Inn By The Sea, the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront or looking into the plentiful Airbnb options in the area.

Question

What is the easiest way to get to/from the venues?

Answer

Considering all of our guests will be traveling to Maine for the wedding, there are a few options for transportation throughout the weekend. The welcome party will take place near Portland's waterfront area, with access to parking for those with rental cars, but also easy to get an Uber as needed. The wedding will take place ~15 minute drive from downtown Portland. There will be parking on site but also Ubers will happily take you there. If you plan to attend the after party, we plan to provide transportation back to Portland's waterfront area.
