Hooper's Restaurant

Hooper's Restaurant

1010 King Court, Kingsland, TX 78639

Hooper's is a renowned restaurant and pub that offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a variety of drinks throughout the day. Situated across the street from The Antler's Inn, it has gained popularity among enthusiasts worldwide due to its association with the iconic 1974 horror film, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. This film, considered a Southern classic, was written and directed by Tobe Hooper, an esteemed Austin filmmaker and alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin. Located at 1001 King Court, our establishment served as the actual filming location for the infamous home of the deranged cannibalistic family in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, including the notorious character Leatherface. In tribute to the legendary Texas filmmaker, Tobe Hooper, who sadly passed away in 2017, we transformed the former Grand Central Cafe into the modern Hooper's.
