Ireland is serviced by most of the big car rental companies you are already familiar with such as Budget, Avis, Hertz, Enterprise and more. Cars can be reserved from the American offices or online on each companies American or Irish websites. Be sure to look for an automatic, the stick shift is on the left for manual cars in Ireland and can be quite an adjustment. In Ireland they drive on the left hand side of the road. The road system has been modernised over the last 10 years and there is now a major road service to most parts of the country.

The Republic of Ireland currency is the Euro. Coins are available in 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's, 20's, and 50's. Also all major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere you go except in the smaller pubs and you can also use these to withdraw cash at ATMs.
