Madison spent all four years of her college career at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA where she studied Theatre and Sociology. Toby, however, cannot say the same. The groom spent the first few years of college bouncing up and down the west coast until he finally settled in at Westmont in January of 2017. During one of his first weekends in Santa Barbara, groomsman Lance Simpson introduced Toby to Madison. For the first year of knowing one another, the two had a lovely friendship -- from Toby's perspective. Secretly (and not so secretly) Madison had a massive crush on Toby ever since she laid eyes on him. After getting to know each other and grow into becoming best friends, the two became a couple in June of 2018.

Madison and Toby have a mutual love for travel and adventuring. The two will book a flight somewhere faster than they can regret spending the money. In early 2021, the two traveled to Oahu, Hawaii (this being Toby's first time)! The two fell in love with the culture, food, laid back lifestyle, beaches, and FOOD. After leaving, Madison and Toby knew that they had to come back. Flash forward a few months, Toby surprised Madison with a first class flight to Oahu in August 2021. After landing, Toby drove the two of them to Makapu'u lookout -- a gorgeous cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. As the sun started to set, Toby got down on one knee and popped the question! Though Madison couldn't see due to the buckets of tears filling up in her eyes, Toby swears it was a beautiful sight.
