The Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia is one of the longest pedestrian malls in the United States. Located on Main Street, it runs from 6th St. N.E. to Old Preston Ave., where it extends to Water St., for a total length of eight blocks. Home to an array of restaurants, shops, cafes, theaters, and art galleries.
The Rivanna Trail is a 20-mile loop encircling Charlottesville, offering a mix of paved and rustic paths along the Rivanna River and through city parks. Riverview Park is a great starting point, easily accessible and connects to the paved river trail.
Monticello was the primary plantation of Thomas Jefferson. He began designing and building Monticello at age 26 after inheriting the land from his father. Located just outside of Charlottesville, the plantation was originally 5,000 acres.
