(Madi) We both played for Cuesta's basketball teams in college, but never really spoke to each other for a month or two. I did however notice his freckles, in passing. There was a lot of awkward glances in the weight room, and passing looks after practices. We didn't have our first introduction conversation until a couple months after school started. It was at a party. He showed up late, walked into the house and I immediately went up to him with a bottle of Gin in my hand. I said "Hi, do you want a drink?" and Ryan says " What is it?", in which I replied, "Gin.", Ryan then asks, "Is it Bombay?", and I said "Yes of course.". And 7 years later, here we are, about to get married and sharing a life together that I have always dreamed of. (Ryan) At first, Madi and I were associated but never aquatinted. I was in my third year in school, she was in her first. We saw each other almost everyday thanks to a shared passion of basketball. Between classes, the shared basketball court, and the weight room, we began to see each other everyday. It all started with shy glances from across the room and awkward exchanges as we turned in homework. Then one night, my teammate convinced me to go out to a team mixer between the girls and guys teams. Once I arrived Madi came up to me with my drink of choice at the time, bottle of Bombay Gin. From the point on, we were inseparable for the rest of the night. After that night we spent the next few months enjoying study dates, trips to SLO Do Co, shared snacks before practice, and days at the beach. It took a while, but we made our relationship official. And now after 7 years of adventures, we can take the next step together.
Ryan and I went on a picnic near Camel Back mountain. This was not unusual for us, as we love going on picnic dates often. We played Frisbee and ate cheese. The picnic was coming to an end. We were starting to pack up, when Ryan suggested we take a photo. Now this was unusual.. I was suspicious. He then got down on one knee and popped the question!
