The day we met was already full of firsts for the both of us. It was Madison's first day at Mizzou and Ross's first day of his MA. Ross was a German TA teaching German I and Madison was a junior taking German I. If you don't know already, we'll let you do the math. Four months, a few Instagram DMs, and a lot of witty banter later, we were official.
In the summer of 2022, we took a trip to Portugal, Spain, and France with rings in both of our carry-ons. We hiked a mountain to a Moorish castle, tanned on a French beach, got caught in the rain at Retiro Park, and proposed to each other on a rooftop overlooking the Meseta mountains in Madrid.
Ross and Madison currently live in Washington, DC with their miniature Australian Shepherd (read: only child), Jynx. At the moment, Ross is completing a dual MA/Ph.D program at Georgetown University in European Politics and German respectively. Madison is pursuing her MA in Public Anthropology at American University while also working as a researcher studying migration and climate change for AU's Immigration Lab and Center for Latin American and Latino Studies. We spend most of our free time exploring the neighborhoods of DC, watching reruns of early 2000s reality television, making late-night runs to Wegmans, and going on lots and lots of walks to wear out Jynx so she doesn't destroy our apartment.
